2. Eligibility 2.1 Students of class X of any affiliated and recognized school under W.B.B.S.E./W.B.B.M.E./I.C.S.E./C.B.S.E in West Bengal securing 50% and above marks [40% and above marks for S.C/S.T/OBC ( as per Central Govt. norms)/ Physically Disabled Candidates] in the final examination of class IX are eligible to appear at State level NTSE, 2019.

Notification for National Talent Search Examination 2018-19

NCERT has issued the Notification for NTSE 2018-19
27 %  Reservations for OBC (non-creamy layer) has been introduced
NTSE Stage I Examination to be held on - 4th November 2018
(in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Andman & Nicobar on 3rd November 2018, in W.Bengal on 18th November 2018)
NTSE Stage II to be held on 12th May 2019
Pattern of Written Examination in NTSE Stage I & II
Paper I    MAT  100 Questions  100 Marks  120 Minutes
Paper II   SAT   100 Questions  100 Marks  120 Minutes

NTSE Stage I 2018-19

Possible changes in NTSE Stage I 2018-19

Reservations -
The scholarship under the present scheme awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in science and social science up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level subject to the fulfillment of the conditions provided in this brochure. As on date 1000 scholarships are awarded in the country with reservation of 15 percent   for SC, 7.5 percent for ST and 27 percent for other backward classes and 4 percent for group of students with benchmark disabilities.
Examination
State level examination may have two parts: Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Part-II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for nominating the required number of candidates for the second level test to be conducted by the NCERT.
