How to score excellent marks in Class X, Social Science Board Paper

Scoring good marks in Social Science and that also in CBSE class X is not at all a difficult task. It just needs a planned approach

For the session 2022-23, there are 21 chapters in Social Science (5 in History, 7 in Geography, 5 in Civics and 4 in Economics). 20 marks each for History, Geography, Civics & Economics

This year there will be 20 MCQs of 1 marks each, 4 questions of 2 marks each, 5 questions of 3 marks each, 3 Source based questions of 4 marks each, 4 questions of 5 marks each and Map carrying 5 marks = 80 marks total

If we plan for History, First Chapter Nationalism in Europe will most probably get a 5 marks question, 3 marks question will be from Nationalism in India, Source based question and 2 marks questions most probably from Making of the Global World or The Age of Industrialisation and 1 or 2 marks questions from Print Culture. 2 marks map question will be from Nationalism in India

In Geography,

more emphasis should be kept on Agriculture, Mineral & Energy Resources, Manufacturing Industries, Lifelines of National Economy. While preparing Agriculture chapter, concentrate on Wheat, Rice, Technical & Institutional Reforms (5 marks questions). Types of Agriculture, Agricultural Seasons for 3 marks questions. From Mineral & Energy Resources - Iron ore, Coal, Non-conventional sources of Energy (5 marks questions). Manufacturing Industries - Types of Pollution created by Industries, How to control pollution (5 marks questions). Lifelines of National Economy - Importance of Road Transport, Factors affecting Railway Network (5 marks questions)

In Civics -

Federalism Chapter - Features of Federalism, 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act for Decentralization (5 marks questions). Political Parties - Features of Political parties, Challenges to Political parties, How to Reform Political parties (5 marks questions). Outcomes of Democracy - How Democracy is better government then others ? (5 mark question)

In Economics -

Sectors of Indian Economy - How to generate employment, Difference between Organised & Unorganized sectors (5 marks). Money & Credit - Self Help Group (5 marks), Globalization and its impact on Indian Economy - Impact of Indian Economy (5 marks)

Solve as many Previous Years CBSE Papers as you can, practice them in written format
