TIPS on how to score above 90% in the Board Exams 2018-19

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE would commence the board examinations for classes 10 and 12 from February 2019 this year. As the schools wrap up the syllabus and get ready for the pre-board examinations in December 2018, students are settling down for their revisions. With increased competition to get into the premier universities and CBSE top percentages touching 99%, the biggest worry for students is to crack the 90 percent ceiling. Toppers and teachers share tips for scoring above 90 percent in CBSE Board Examinations 2019.
NCERT is crucial: Teachers have emphasized repeatedly on the importance of covering the NCERT in its entirety. Toppers over the years have also vouched on how they have focussed on NCERT books. Over the years, the question papers have been strictly based on the NCERT books and would continue to do so. Students can refer to the reference books but should ensure that they are thorough with all the topics covered in the NCERT books.
Solve CBSE Sample Papers: CBSE Sample papers are released by the board for all subjects for classes 10 and 12 on the official website cbseacademic.nic.in. Teachers suggest that the CBSE Sample papers are usually a good way to start. They also ask the students to go through the marking schemes released by the board to understand how their answers would be marked.

Time Management: Toppers are usually able to finish their papers well in advance of the given time limit of 3 hours, with about 10 minutes left for revision. The secret to that, toppers reveal is time management. All students have their own speeds and are comfortable in solving the question papers as per their convenience. This is what needs to be determined before the examination. Practising sample papers is a good way of understanding and tweaking your speeds and improving time management for the examination.
Use points for answers: Examiners have shared how answers given in points are much more easier to mark and chances of teachers leaving out the crucial extra mark are less. Also, toppers say that covering the answer points makes sure that they don’t leave out on anything crucial and are easier to revise also.
Revision is KEY: Revise and revise again, is what teachers often tell students and that is the motto. Schools have either already completed the entire syllabus or would do so in a few weeks. As such, students have about 2 months of time for revision. Toppers usually revise the entire syllabus about 3 times before the boards actually begin. Every student has his or her own speed but revision is the key. As many times as you can, say teachers.
