CBSE Class Xth English Board Exam 2018 students to get 2 marks for wrong question !

CBSE had conducted the Class 10th English board examination on March 12, 2018. However, shortly after the paper, the expert groups were buzzing regarding a wrong question in the comprehension passage. The third question of Passage 2 which asked students to search and write synonyms of endurance, obstruction, and motivation in paragraphs two, four and five, respectively of the given passage. Many students were left confused. Experts and teachers noted that the actual synonyms of the words were to be found in paras three and six of the passage.
A WhatsApp message started to do rounds of various closed groups on Friday claiming that the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has agreed to award 2 marks to all CBSE Class 10th students who have attempted a question was printed incorrectly. The reports however could not be validated and neither could the origin of the message. CBSE officials when approached to attest to the claims, however, refused to comment on the same. CBSE maintains that the stand of the board as regards the evaluation is an internal matter and cannot be disclosed.
While the group that has shared the information is reliable, the origin of the message has not been confirmed as yet. Also, the marking scheme of the papers has not been shared by the board as yet either. As to the probability of this happening, experts suggest that in all probability, CBSE is most likely to grant these 2 marks, but only to those students who have attempted the question – whether or not they have gotten the answers right. The officials in the meanwhile have refused to accept or deny the reports.
