Explanation on page no.88 of Chapter 6 (Anatomy of Flowering Plants), NCERT book Class XI, under the heading ‘Complex tissue’. The phloem parenchyma stores food material and other substances like resins, latex and mucilage.

Explanation - on page no.86 of Chapter 6 (Anatomy of Flowering Plants), NCERT book Class XI, under the heading ‘Simple tissue’. As mentioned in the book, Collenchyma consists of cells which are much thickened at the corners due to the deposition of cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin whereas Sclerenchyma consists of long, narrow cells with thick and lignified cell walls having a few or numerous pits.
