According to the latest curriculum issued (March 2017) by CBSE for Academic Session 2017-18, few changes have been done in Social Science Syllabus
Class IX
Earlier Class IX - History consisted of Three Sections.
But now Third Section (Everyday Life, Culture and Politics) has been removed, only Two Sections are there
In First Section there were three chapters (French Revolution, Russian Revolution, Nazism - Rise of Hitler). First chapter (French Revolution) was compulsory, last two were optional (one to be done out of two). But now all the three chapters are compulsory
Class IX - Civics
consisted of Six chapters
But now, Chapter No.1 i.e. Democracy in the Contemporary World has been removed.
In Class X
Geography Section earlier consisted of Seven Chapters
but now Second Chapter i.e. Forest and Wildlife Resources has been removed
In Chapter Four i.e. Agriculture - Content of Page no. 44 to 47 of NCERT book is to be deleted
In Sixth Chapter i.e. Manufacturing Industries - Content mentioned on page no. 74-75 of NCERT, Geography Text book i.e. Aluminium Smelting, Chemical Industries, Fertilizer Industry, Cement Industry is not required to be deliver in class room during instruction.
Civics
Popular Struggles and Movements (Note : Ch-5 is to be done as project work only and will not be evaluated in theory)
Content of Social Science is given between page no 73 to 100
thanks

ReplyDeleteWhat about history class 10th?
ReplyDeleteI heard that there are only 4 chapters i.e. Nationalism in india, Nationalism in Europe, Age of Industrialization and Print culture and modern world.
I also heard that that 1st chapter of economics has been cancelled and 5th of civics.
Please let me know if this is true?

Chapter No.1 & 2 of History are optional, you have to do only one of them. Chapter No.3 is compulsory. Chapter 4 & 5 & 6 all are optional, you have to do only one out of the three. Chapter No. 7 & 8 both are optional. Only one chapter out of these two is to be done.
DeleteEconomics all chapters are to be done
Civics, chapter no. 5 is no more applicable for board exams

Jus one doubt pls .i would like to know overall what and all we should study in chapter 6 manufacturing industries.pls notify me as soon as possible
ReplyDeleteContent mentioned on page no. 74-75 of NCERT, Geography Text book i.e. Aluminium Smelting, Chemical Industries, Fertilizer Industry, Cement Industry is not required to study. CBSE has deleted this part from the syllabus
DeleteBecause from the many websites available the information provided says that types and spatial distribution(map only)and to study only contribution of industries to the indian economy and industrial pollution and the ways to prevent and control pollution and that its enough .so what exactly are the portion in that lesson that we must prepare for and study
ReplyDeleteMost of the websites term the above ( study only contribution of industries to the indian economy and industrial pollution and the ways to prevent and control pollution) content as important. Most probably question in Board exams will be asked from this part only.
DeleteBut it's just predictions, not confirmed.
Many a times they ask questions from Cotton textile industries as well as Iron and steel industry also
So along with that its better tat we studycotton textile industry as well as iron n steel industry
Delete5 marks question will be framed from this topics only.
Delete3 marks question can be framed from other topics also
So for 3 marks we should actually study the whole lesson except for the deleted portion
DeleteYes
DeleteThank you
