Q.13. Answer given is Option no 3. But there is no sequence according the option.
Q.43. What is the minimum no of different colours required to paint the given fig. such that no two adjacent regions have the same colour ?

In this question answer given is 3 but the correct answer is 4. That is option 2

Objections in SAT Answer key
Q. 57 The most important safety measure used for protecting home appliances from short circuiting or overloading
(1) Earthing  (2) Use of fuse (3) Use of Stabilizer
(4) Use of electric meter
Answer given in official answer key is 4 i.e. Use of electric meter
The correct answer should be 2 i.e. Use of fuse

Explanation - On page 238 NCERT Textbook Chapter 13 ( Magnetic Effects of electric current), it is clearly written A fuse in a circuity prevents appliances and the circuit due to overloading or Shot circuit.
Q.129 Which state of India has the maximum area under forest ?
1. Haryana       2. Tripura         3. Rajasthan        4. Karnataka
Answer given in the official answer key is Option 2 i.e. Tripura
The Correct answer should be Option 4 i.e. Karnataka

Explanation - State of India which has the maximum area under forest is Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh has the largest forest cover of 77,522 sq. km. in terms of area in the country followed by Arunachal Pradesh with forest cover of 67,321 sq. km.

Even if we go by the four options given in the question - Karnataka (36132 sq.km area under forest) should be the correct answer in comparison to Tripura (7866 sq.km area under forest)

Answer given in the official answer key is Option 4 i.e. Decreases earnings
The Correct answer should be Option 3 i.e. Increases competition in the market

Explanation - On Page No. 61, Economics Chapter No.4 (Globalisation and The Indian Economy), NCERT Book, under the heading - 'Foreign Trade and Integration of Markets' it is clearly written - In general with the opening of trade, goods travel from one market to another. Choice of goods in the market rises. Prices of similar goods in the two markets tend to become equal. And PRODUCERS IN THE TWO COUNTRIES NOW CLOSELY COMPETE AGAINST EACH OTHER EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SEPARATED BY THOUSANDS OF MILES.

Answer given in the official answer key - (4) biased
The correct answer should be (3) neutral as the word 'inclined' means to feel favourably disposed towards someone or something and the word 'neutral' means an impartial or unbiased state or person; hence the correct answer.

SAT Paper
Q.128 Which of the following describes a system
of agriculture where a single crop is grown on a large area
(1) Shifting Agriculture  (2) Plantation Agriculture  (3) Horticulture (4) Intensive Agriculture
Answer given in the official answer key is Option (4) i.e. Intensive Agriculture
the correct answer should be Option (2) i.e Plantation Agriculture
Explanation - According to Agriculture, Chapter No.4 of NCERT
on page no. 35 under the heading Commercial Farming
it is clearly written - Plantation is also a type of Commercial farming. In this type of farming,

Explanation on page no.203 of Chapter 12 (Mineral nutrition),NCERT book Class XI, under the heading ‘nodule formation’
The enzyme nitrogenase is a Mo-Fe protein and catalyses the conversion of atmospheric nitrogen to ammonia,the first stable product of Nitrogen fixation. This enzyme is highly sensitive to the molecular oxygen; it requires anaerobic conditions. The nodules have adaptations that ensure that the enzyme is protected from oxygen. To protect these enzymes the nodule contains an oxygen scavenger called leg-haemoglobin.It is interesting to note that these microbes live as aerobes under free living conditions (where nitrogenase is not operational),but during nitrogen fixing events,they become anaerobic.

NTSE to have OBC quota, amount and number of scholarship to be increased

The government on Tuesday approved reservation for OBC students in the second stage of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), a test conducted by NCERT to award scholarships to students, from 2019.

Union human resource development minister Prakash Javadekar said the government has already increased the rates of scholarships and is also planning to double the number of scholarships from 1000 to 2000 annually.
The scholarship amount is expected to be enhanced to Rs 5,000 per month in the next couple of years.

CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child (Class X - 2017)


HOW TO APPLY

  • 1. Candidate need to enter her roll number and certificate no. (as printed on the class X grade sheet) in order to submit the online application form.
  • 2. Enter all your particulars carefully and submit the form.
  • 3. Note down the Registration Number shown on the page. This will be used while uploading documents and also for all other future communications.
  • 4. Print the undertaking as provided in the “Guidelines Document” (this document), fill it, paste the photograph and get it attested from school.
  • 5. Prepare affidavit, as per format provided in the “Guidelines Document”.
  • 6. Scan the above two documents, ie Affidavit and Undertaking so as to create JPG image file of up to 1MB size.
  • 7. Go to “Upload Document” option and upload both the above documents.
  • 8. Go to print “Confirmation Page” option and generate the confirmation page.
  • 9. Send duly filled and signed confirmation page to “Scholarship Unit”, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Delhi – 110092.

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is inviting applications for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child of Class X passed in 2017 on its official website - cbse.nic.in. 
    Female students who have passed their Class X from schools affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and are the single child of their parents are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
    The candidate must have cleared her Class X exam with minimum 60% or 6.2 CGPA and must be continuing her further studies for Class XI and XII. CBSE will sponsor all 'Single Girl Students' who have secured minimum 60% or 6.2 CGPA marks or grades this year subject to some terms and conditions. Candidates can apply either online or offline. The last date to apply online is 15th November 2017 and the same for sending the applications by post or in person is 30th
