When will be the results of NTSE Stage II 2019-20 will be declared?

 Result of NTSE Stage II 2019–20, exam held on 14th Feb 2021 is expected by 10th July. Candidates will be able to check thier OMR sheets along with fonal scoring keys on NCERT website by June 15th 2021

What can be termed as a safe score to become a NTSE Scholar ?

First let's talk about the cut off of NTSE Stage II 2017

Cut off for General Candidates - 77/150

Cut off for SC Candidates - 46.67/150

Cut off for ST candidates - 47.67/150

From 2018, pattern of NTSE Exam was changed, now number of questions were increased to 200 and negative marking for wrong answers were removed. LCT paper was removed. Now only two papers i.e. MAT paper of 100 marks and SAT paper of 100 marks.

Last result which we have so far is of NTSE 2018–19. NTSE stage II Paper of 2019–20 was held on 14th Feb 2021 and the result is still awaited. NTSE Stage II paper of 2020–21 was scheduled on 13th June 2021 but has been postponed indefinitely due to Corona crisis

Cut off of NTSE Stage II 18–19 -

For General Category - 134/200

For OBC Category - 116

For SC Category - 105

For ST Category - 93

This means that to become NTSE scholar anything around 130-32–135 in NTSE Stage II for General Category can be considered as a Safe figure. Now 10% reservation for EWS Category is also applicable, that will also have a detrimental impact on overall cut off

Though final things depends upon the difficulty level of the NTSE Stage II paper of that particular year, but going by the previous year's experience it can be said that 135 in NTSE Stage II for General Category student can be a safe figure to become a NTSE Scholar

NTSE Stage II 2020-21 postponed

 Going by the prevailing Corona pandemic circumstances NCERT has postponed NTSE Stage II 2020-21, which was scheduled to be held on 13th June 2021 to an indefinite period

New date for this exam would be announced later

How CBSE will announce the results of Class X cancealed exams?

The schools will conduct the assessment of students by forming a result committee consisting of the Principal and seven teachers for finalizing the result. Five teachers from the school and two teachers from neighboring schools should be co-opted by the school as the external members of the Committee.

Important Points

The assessment of the students will be done on the basis of these important points mentioned below.

1. The students will be assessed out of a maximum of 100 marks for each subject. As per the policy of the Board, 20 marks are for Internal Assessment and 80 marks are for year-end Board examinations.

2. The internal assessment for 20 marks will be as per the existing policy laid out in circular number Acad- 11/2019 dated March 6, 2019, available at the official website. Based on the circular, Internal assessments have already been done by the schools and a majority of schools have uploaded their data on the CBSE portal. The schools will have to upload the marks of the internal assessment latest by June 11, 2021.

3. Due to cancellation of Board examinations, the assessment of 80 marks will be done by the school based on the marks scored by the candidate in the different tests/ exams conducted by the school during the year and the marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in Class 10 board exams.

The evaluation process will involve four key principles including reliability, fairness, flexibility and validity. CBSE may depute a team to verify the documents and the process of allocating marks uploaded to ensure the correctness of the same.
